Geek Fuel {June}

Well well well…. Things are finally starting to calm down for me around this crazy house. I’m starting to catch up on my blogs and am actually writing posts again! This one is long overdue but totally worth it. As we all know by now, I’m obsessed with Pokemon. (See: Right Arm, Tattoo, Pikachu.) And plants. OF COURSE THIS BOX WAS AMAZING! Pikachu, TMNT, AND A PLANT POT! Are you kidding me??? UGH! I’m so excited about it.

Pokemon GO just came out, so I’ve been all about Pokemon. (I’m sorry to those of you that I’m friends with on Facebook. I can’t help it. I’m excited.) Nothing makes me happier than cute little Pikachu. So, of course, this shirt that we got this month. AMAZING! Also, side note, I’m at this awkward size where my chest is slightly too big for small t-shirts, and the rest of me is entirely too tiny for medium t-shirts. It’s a struggle, but I’m working through it because my nerdwear needs to be worn.

And a Pikachu and Meowth temporary tattoo? Yes. This is the best.

I didn’t get a picture of the planter before it was being used. It’s currently home to my snake plant starter. Wish it luck! (Side Story: Trowa, who is obsessed with Mario, has asked about a million times if my snake plant is going to turn into a Piranha plant.. I wish it was!)

The rest of the box included:

  • Sherlock Manga (A GeekFuel Exclusive!)
  • Bit Evolution Steam Game
  • Super Mario Ink Stamp (I got Luigi)
  • Turtle Trainer stress ball (A GeekFuel Exclusive!) – Charlie has already tried to eat it. Twice…. Today.

As always, you can sign up for GeekFuel here

My last side story:

I’m helping mom blog! Make sure you follow her at @thenerdyfoxblog

Charlie was super helpful today. I also made him an instagram, because let’s be real, I’m obsessed with my dog. You can follow him if you’d like. He’ll probably give you kisses if you do.

So, last week I was supposed to meet up with Kimi. We got sick and had to stay home and it was the worst! I seriously slept for about 20 hours trying to get rid of whatever bug we had. There aren’t words for how terrible it was. Anyway, we have a fancy new header and button! How fun is that?

Things I’m loving this week:

Did you know that this weekend is Pokemon Day? It sure is! The 27th! I’m so stinkin’ excited.

How adorable is this dress?

Or this blanket?

I’ll let you in on a little secret – Hot Topic is having a store-wide sale on POKEMON DAY! Everything online (INCLUDING CLEARANCE!) is going to be an additional 20% off.

I’ll be buying this for sure:

because I obviously -NEED- a Pikachu hoodie. I need it. That’s all there is to it!

If you’re an iPhone user there is an app in the App Store called Pokemon Photo Booth for some added Pokemon fun! Don’t worry fellow Android users, it’s coming soon for us!

And of course there are going to be fun events at participating stores like GameStop and Toys’R’Us. I’m pretty dang excited!

Are you doing anything fun this weekend?

Today is a special day around my house. Trowa turns 5 today! Can you believe that? Five years ago I was in the hospital, waiting to hold my last child. He was born three weeks early, weighed 7lbs 7oz and was 19 inches long. Can you image if he would have been full term? He would have been ginormous. Seriously. So, here are some baby pictures for everyone to enjoy.

He was a cute little thing. Now he’s into these kinds of things:

71Cc2wL4bCL._SL1500_

Yo-kai watch. He’s utterly obsessed with it. His party isn’t until Saturday and I told him that I couldn’t find it in any store. He’s going to be so excited when he opens it!

Things I don’t love this week:

My account got hacked. Someone tried to charge a thousand dollars to my account and I’ve been so stressed out about it. It’s all okay. Everything is getting refunded or was declined and they’re sending me out a new card. But it’s still so stressful. I’m just ready for it all to be over with and to have access to my bank account again. Ugh. What a mess!

So, this is going to be a short TILT post. I’ve been crazy busy and just really am ready for the weekend. Let me know what you love this week in the comments below and be sure to link up with us. If you haven’t already entered this awesome giveaway, be sure that you do!

I got up this morning with ideas of what i was going to post for Things I Love Thursday and then I found out that Alan Rickman passed away. This week has been so hard! First we had Bowie pass away, at the age of 69, from cancer. And now my dear Potions professor, at the age of 69, from cancer.

So, I’m going to share some of my favorite Alan Rickman things:

Rest in Peace my dear Professor Snape. You taught us about potions, dark arts, unbreakable vows, how to control our emotions, and that love can last a life time. Always.

I’m deeply saddened that you didn’t make it to 80 and get to tell you family this. But, somehow I think that you did this anyway. You were an amazing actor and I know that you had a great love of the Harry Potter books. I’m glad that I got to grow up with the books and movies and that my childhood was influnenced by such amazing actors and actresses and an amazing writer. Thank you for being my Professor Snape, my Blue Caterpillar,  my Marvin, my Judge Turpin, and so many other great characters.

Now that we’re all crying. Here is the video that makes me laugh –

Geek Fuel {December} Plus a Giveaway!

It’s that time of the month again, GEEK FUEL! (What were YOU thinking?)

gfmlogo

December was a little crazy for everyone so I’m just getting this up. It was filled with Star Wars goodness, though.

  • The Knightmare Before Christmas Excluive T-shirt – A cute mashup of Jack Skellington and The Joker.
  • Devil’s Bluff -AND- Bloo Kid 2 Steam Downloads
  • Liquid Sabers Candy
  • Death Star Mold
  • BB-8 Eraser
  • 8-bit Gift Wrap
  • Vault Of Simpsonology Book
  • Geek Fuel Greeting Card
  • Star Wars Movie Ticket Giveaway

So, I’m going to be super honest in this post. I already ate the candy. And used the 8-bit wrap. And sent the greeting card. And the T-Shirt is in the massive pile of laundry that I’m doing today. I had these grandiose ideas of getting all my ducks in a row with a freshly cleaned shirt to take a picture of…. and here I am, writing this in my pajamas, drinking Dr. Pepper like it’s going out of style. It’s been a crazy month around here, I started a new job yesterday. I’m behind on life, it feels like. So, what I’m saying is, I don’t have pictures of everything. I’m sorry. I dropped the ball but it was all so cute that I couldn’t wait to use it! Please forgive me!

First, I’m super excited about the Death Star Mold because it’s silicone — which means I can use it FOR SOAP! Guys. I’m going to start selling DEATH STAR SOAPS! Do you even understand how awesome that is? Because it’s silicone I can use it for either glycerin OR lye soap. So, Whenever I have extra soap left over from batches, you better believe I’m going to be making some Death Stars… (Also, I have been doing the same thing with the Doctor Who and Avengers ice cube trays from Geek Fuel. Seriously, they’re supplying me with awesome things for my business. It’s legit)

20160112_095639

See, that’s all I have left from this month’s box. Haha. I’m making soap later so I should have a picture of the death star soap up on instagram in the next couple of days!

Confession time – I don’t like The Simpson’s…. Blasphemy, right? I watched it growing up but I’m not crazy about it, like at all. So, I have this book that is just going to sit around my house doing nothing, collecting dust. I figured that maybe one of my readers would like to win it? Why not, right?  So, I’m giving away Bart Simpson’s Manual of Mischief. See the Rafflecopter below  —

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide {Star Wars}

I’ve never been a big flowers and chocolate fan. I mean, I love chocolate and flowers (lilies, not roses. Never roses.) but I don’t like getting them on Valentine’s day. Is that weird? It might be weird. I just think that if you really love someone, there is a more original way to show them than by giving them roses and a box of chocolates. From now until VDay I’ll be sharing some themed gifts that hopefully inspire you for the geek in your life. Or you know, yourself if you’re alone on Singles Awareness Day. 😉  Since it’s never too early to start shopping for gifts, I thought we’d start with my favorite. Star Wars, for her. We really need to talk about Star Wars Episode VII because, I love it. Anyway, he is a list of my favorite Star Wars items that would surely make your Lady Geek’s day!

The Nerdy Fox

Hello, 2016! I’ve already had a great start to 2016. I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun this last week has been. I am going over my reader survey (which you can still fill out here!) and I have to tell you guys that I love you all so much! I love reading your comments on the survey. I really got to a point in blogging where I didn’t think that people even enjoyed reading my posts and to find out that there are so many of you that have been sad that I haven’t been posting as much… it really made my day and gave me so much desire to get back into writing. So, I apologize for being MIA and I am really going to get back into it, I swear. PLUS I have exciting things going on in my life again (work, boyfriend, children that say the most amazing things, and of course Star Wars). I’ll be sure to keep my blog more up-to-date and I think now that I’m not in my depressive funk, I think it’ll be easier for me to write.

Let’s get started, shall we?

I love the beginning of the year because it means there are new planners out. I love and adore stationary and planners… so it makes me giddy. I recently picked up this beauty from Target and I’m currently making it mine.

The picture doesn’t do it justice – the light brown henna design is actually copper. It’s beautiful. I’m so in love with it.

Of course because it’s the new year, I also decided I need new pens (to add to my million other pens….) and got these:

Because, I love pens… and pencils. It goes along with my obsession of snail mail. I love writing. Is that a weird thing? Hmm…

The only downfall to the new year so far is that I have a cold sore. I used to get them when I was little, I think. I can’t remember but I haven’t had one …. in as long as I can remember. And my lip is huge and swollen and it’s seriously so unattractive. So, I’m trying this out to see if it’s as magical as it is claiming to be.

It’s supposed to get rid of the cold sore in a single dose. So, I’ll let you know if it really works… I have my doubts. It does feel better so far though, so maybe that’s a good sign? I don’t know. I’m actually just mortified that I have a cold sore. My mom said I used to get them all the time when I was little, whenever the weather would change. I just haven’t had one in about 20 years. (Wow, that makes me feel old saying that.) So, if you need me, I’ll be the one with the paper bag over my face until my hideous cold sore goes away.

What have you done so far this year? What is your favorite part of it being a new year? How many times have you written 2015 instead of 2016?? Let me know in the comments and join us for the link up!

So, I had this entire post planned out and it just  has been one of those days. It’s been a little crazy around here, we’re getting over strep and I’m working on a website in my spare time — on top of Girl Scouts, Cheaha Soaps, and childrearing. I’m literally exhausted all the time. I can’t. So…. Cheer me up by adding your link below so I can see what things you’re loving this week, because I’m seriously lacking over here!

I’m patiently waiting for these to come in the mail.

Butta USB handwarmers

And I’m dreaming of these beautiful things from ModCloth. Does anyone else feel like Modcloth is what they’d be if they were a store? Because, I feel like that about ModCloth. It’s full of so many cute things.

Stop over by Kimi’s blog and give her some extra love. I know she could really use it right now. <3

I’ve compiled a list of small shop owners that I think you’ll really enjoy. And just to be clear, I don’t get anything out of you shopping at any of these (Unless it’s Cheaha Soaps… that’s my business. haha) But these are fellow bloggers and friends that have etsy/storenvy shops that I know would benefit from you ordering.
